Ingredients

  • 1 lb cooked chicken, shredded
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine chicken broth, vegetables, garlic powder, and thyme. Bring to a simmer.
  2. Add shredded chicken and cook until vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour and baking powder. Add milk and stir until just combined.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of batter into simmering soup to form dumplings. Cover and cook for 15 minutes until dumplings are fluffy.
  5. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
