- 4 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Blanch green beans in boiling water for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp, drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
- Fold green beans into the sauce mixture, then transfer to a baking dish.
- Top with half of the crispy fried onions and cheese if using.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until bubbling around the edges and the topping is golden brown.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle remaining onions on top, and serve hot.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add sautéed mushrooms or a dash of garlic powder.
- Use fresh green beans for the best texture.
